Call to Order: Note—This meeting was held at Richardson Community Center Gym just prior to the Net Generation training and on a different date than normal in order to accommodate both the meeting and training on the same evening.
President Dolly Robinson called the meeting to order at 5:10 PM. Members in attendance included the following: Dolly Robinson, Richard Johnson, Joe Hinkle, Mike Null, Laura Hunter-Null, Laura Hunter, Tom Moore, Marcia Kazmierski, Michelle Lear, Cassidy Lear, Molly Sullivan; also in attendance from the USTA was George English-USTA Florida representative and Robert Taylor, certified instructor and Tennis Director of Haile Plantation.
Approval of Minutes: Motion by L. Hunter-Null to approve the minutes of June 11, 2018 as presented; seconded by M. Kazmierski. Motion carried unanimously.
Old Business: President Robinson gave a report on the summer tennis clinics held at Young’s Park and at the Fort White Community Center.
M. Null gave an update on the planned new tennis court construction by the City of Lake City.
Finance Report: J. Hinkle reported the balance in the bank account at this time is $1,368.00 following payment for tennis clinic coaching expenses and the purchase of visors with the LCCCTA logo for the tennis clinic participants.
New Business: With increased activity at Fort White, it was suggested our organization join the Fort White Chamber of Commerce. Motion by L. Hunter, seconded by J. Hinkle to join; motion carried unanimously.
President Robinson announced that LCCCTA had been nominated for USTA-Florida Member Organization Award.
G. English announced that the USTA would be providing certified coaching for the Red Ball Team Challenge to be held on July 30th at Young’s Park for the two sessions scheduled that morning.
The next meeting date is scheduled for August 13th, normal time/location. President Robinson adjourned the meeting at 5:30PM.
